Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant: Upland Location

Melissa Castro

I am a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant with a passion for helping individuals reach their fullest potential across all stages of life. I earned my Associate of Arts degree in Occupational Therapy from Stanbridge University and have spent the past seven years serving both adult and pediatric populations.

For six years, I worked closely with the elderly population, supporting clients with severe disabilities and helping them improve their quality of life, independence, and daily functioning through compassionate, individualized care. My experience in this setting strengthened my ability to provide patient-centered treatment while building meaningful relationships with clients and their families.

Over the past three years, I transitioned into pediatrics within a school district setting, where I discovered a deep passion for working with children. I enjoy helping kids grow in their confidence, skills, and independence while collaborating closely with parents and educators to support each child’s unique developmental journey. I value creating encouraging and supportive environments where children can thrive both emotionally and functionally.

My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion, patience, creativity, and connection, with a strong desire to make a positive impact in the lives of the families I serve.
