Monica Martinez
Monica Martinez is a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant. She graduated in 2017 from Santa Ana College. She also went to Irvine Valley College and received her AA in Early Childhood Development. Monica is trilingual (English, Spanish and American Sign Language). Prior to becoming a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant, Monica worked in the schools for 14 years as a behavioral therapist and instructional assistant with the mod-severe population,with a wide range of ages and diagnosis. Working with children/teens/adults as a behavioral therapist is where she found her passion in becoming a speech therapist. She was able to see that the biggest component of the behaviors were due to being unable to communicate their wants and needs. Monica has experienced working with clients with speech delays, articulation disorder, stuttering, apraxia, autism, Down Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy. She has experience using a variety of AAC devices.
Monica was born and raised in Orange County and comes from a close knit family. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her son, family and friends. She loves playing and watching sports. She is a huge Laker, Dodger, and Kings fan.
