Speech Language Pathologist

Julie Major

After pausing a career in human resources to care for her twins, Julie found her true passion which is helping children improve their speech and language skills. She went back to school to pursue becoming a speech-language pathologist as a second career. She started at California State University, Fullerton to take the prerequisite courses and earn her postbaccalaureate. While at California State University, Fullerton, she worked in the university speech and hearing clinic and gained a greater perspective on speech disorders through interacting with clients. Later, she attended graduate school at California State University, Northridge and graduated with distinction in May of 2021 with her Masters of Science in Communicative Disorders.

Julie’s previous experience includes early intervention in a clinic setting and providing speech services to elementary, high school and adult transition students. She has worked with children with autism, language disorders, articulation disorders, Down syndrome, fluency disorders and children using Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices. Julie enjoys reading, yoga and spending time with her husband and two children who are now college students.
